The instrument tests 2–8 specimens at the same time. Wear classes are assigned by comparing visible wear marks after the specified revolutions, with classes 0–5 and the stated revolution thresholds.
A fluorescent standard-light box is available for visual evaluation. The specifications cover specimen, fixture, turntable, motor, electrical, lighting, and enclosure dimensions.
