Contact Angle & Surface TensionMetals

Optical High-Temperature Contact Angle Analyzer

The GFT-II optical contact-angle analyzer monitors wetting and contact-angle changes as metals and inorganic compounds are heated through sintering, softening, melting, and liquefaction. It uses transmission projection, computer image analysis, and controlled heating in vacuum or protective atmospheres.

Model
GFT-II-17
Category
Contact Angle & Surface Tension

Product Description

A specimen is heated and melted before contacting a substrate in a vacuum or protective-atmosphere environment. The system records images and temperature or height data and analyzes projected shape for surface tension, wetting angle, and dynamic contact angle. Computer control provides automatic image storage, data acquisition, and analysis.

The configuration includes a CCD imaging system, B-type thermocouple, molybdenum-rhodium wire furnace, selectable contact-angle analysis methods, manual focusing, vacuum and protective-gas equipment, and optional 360° rotation.
