Glass Density Comparator
Published: 3/14/2025
Bench-top instrument for determining the density of glass and other non-porous solids using a float-comparison method. Also suitable for measuring the apparent density of ceramics or solids with known porosity in production QC and research labs.
Product Description
The MD-II Glass Density Comparator is designed for precise determination of material density within the 1.1–3.3 g/cm³ range. It employs a thermostatic water bath with fine temperature control and magnetic stirring to ensure uniform test conditions and stable measurements.
Typical applications include routine density checks in glass manufacturing for process control, as well as academic and industrial research on glasses, ceramics, and other solid materials with known porosity. The instrument conforms to GB/T 14901-1994, the float comparison method for glass density measurement.
