Dynamic Elastic Modulus Tester
The DTM-II Dynamic Elastic Modulus Tester determines dynamic elastic modulus from material resonance frequency measured by impact excitation and frequency analysis. Product Description
The DTM-II measures basic resonance frequency by impacting the specimen and sensing vibration with an accelerometer. Fast Fourier Transform identifies the resonance peaks; the spectrum is stored and displayed on a computer, and the system automatically calculates maximum amplitude without manual frequency scanning. Computer connection supports automated test analysis.
The instrument can measure resonance frequency and elastic modulus for concrete, carbon, glass, stone slabs, brick, plastics, metals, and other nonmetallic materials. Resonance testing supports repeated measurements on one specimen during concrete freeze–thaw durability studies and can also measure shear modulus, Poisson's ratio, damping, and internal friction. Referenced methods include ASTM C215, ASTM C666, SL 352-2006, DL/T 5150-2001, and DL/T 536-2006.
