Laser Flash Thermal Conductivity Tester

Published: 7/16/2025

Laser flash method instrument for measuring thermal diffusivity, specific heat, and calculating thermal conductivity of solids, liquids, melts, slags, and films. Suitable for metals, ceramics, graphite/carbon fibers, polymers, filled plastics, insulating solids, granular and powder materials, compliant with GJB 1201.1-91 and ASTM D1461.

Product Description

The DRX-II-JG series is a modular laser flash system that irradiates the sample with a short laser pulse and uses a high‑speed infrared detector to capture the rear-surface temperature rise, from which thermal diffusivity is calculated; with density and specific heat, thermal conductivity is determined. The platform supports interchangeable furnaces to cover selectable temperature ranges and accommodates multiple sample holders for solids, low- and high‑viscosity liquids, viscous semi‑solids, elastic solids, thin films, melts, and slags.

A compact architecture separates hardware from electronics and supports automated loading of up to three positions with single-sample testing per run. The system enables vacuum or controlled atmospheres (inert, oxidizing, reducing; static or dynamic), multilayer contact thermal resistance analysis, and comparative specific heat calculation using reference standards, with PC connectivity for fully automated control and report generation.
